Hi, we're Oscar. We're hiring a Senior Regulatory Analyst (Legislative + Policy), to join our Regulatory Operations team.

Oscar is the first health insurance company built around a full stack technology platform and a focus on serving our members. We started Oscar in 2012 to create the kind of health insurance company we would want for ourselves—one that behaves like a doctor in the family.

About the role

As a Policy + Research Senior Regulatory Analyst within our Regulatory Operations team, you'll share ownership of workflows, tools and requirements that ensure an enterprise-wide understanding of legislative and regulatory developments and updates. You'll help develop, format and disseminate all legal policies that underpin our business operations and inform regulatory audits, while partaking in general maintenance and ad hoc research processes.

You will report to the Senior Manager, Regulatory Operations. This is a hybrid role, and you will work part of the time in the New York or Arizona office and part of the time working remotely.

Responsibilities

  • Cultivate a strong understanding of the regulatory operations ecosystem and current strengths, weaknesses, and gaps within pertinent region(s).
  • Introduce tracking tools and systems to support more efficient project management of legislative, regulatory, and subregulatory updates
  • Partner with the current members of Regulatory Operations team, counsel and cross functional business partners to communicate legislative, regulatory and subregulatory developments
  • Conduct comprehensive information searches for projects as assigned. Identify and review relevant statutes, regulations, and subregulatory guidance. Synthesize research findings for counsel's review.
  • Review, edit and contribute to building the overall process we use to write Policies.
  • Have a distinct handle on the structure of the team both operationally and culturally.

Qualifications

  • A Bachelor's degree in legal studies, political science, public policy, or other relevant field or 4 years commensurate experience.
  • 3+ years of healthcare industry regulatory analysis experience, ideally in the health plan/managed care space.
  • Proficiency in Westlaw, iTrak, and Google Sheets.
  • Proficiency in designing and improving workflows, and demonstrative project management experience.
