Hi, we're Oscar. We're hiring a Regulatory Associate join our Regulatory Operations team.

About the role

You will be a major contributor and owner of numerous workflows and content libraries that ensure an enterprise-wide understanding of all regulatory requirements for Oscar's Northeast region.

In addition to providing general regional oversight, you'll create summaries of all legislative and regulatory developments, develop and review all legal policies that underpin our business operations and inform regulatory audits, and create the regional requirement library for all applicable states.

You will report to the Associate Director, Regulatory Operations. This is a hybrid role. You will work part of the time in the New York office and part of the time work-from-home/remote. #LI-Hybrid

Responsibilities

  • Cultivate an understanding of the regulatory operations ecosystem and current strengths, weaknesses, and gaps within appropriate region(s).
  • Work on multiple, simultaneous and diverse assignments while observing deadlines, managing competing priorities in a fast paced environment.
  • Conduct comprehensive information searches for projects as assigned by counsel and manager. Identify and review relevant statutes, regulations, and sub-regulatory guidance. Summarize research findings for counsel's review, and maintain the repository of findings for business use.
  • Partner with the current members of Regulatory Operations team, counsel and cross functional partners to digest and communicate legislative, regulatory and sub-regulatory developments
  • Review, edit and help build the process we use to write Policies.
  • Work to develop sustainable processes which simplify our growing team's outputs while ensuring high-quality deliverables.
  • Support cross-training and knowledge development across Oscar.

Qualifications

  • A Bachelor's degree in legal studies, political science, public policy, or other relevant field, or a combination of education and experience.
  • 3+ years of healthcare industry regulatory analysis experience, preferably in the health plan/managed care space.
  • Proficiency in process improvement and project management.
  • Proficiency in Westlaw, iTrak, and Google Sheets.
