Our legal team is a small and gritty group who wears several hats in managing all customer contracts, advising the executive team on risks, and executing deals and negotiations. By working collaboratively across the company, you will be an instrumental piece in protecting the business.

Accruent is looking for an Associate, Legal Counsel to join its legal group based in Austin, Texas. He or she will advise the Director of Legal Counsel, Finance, Accounting, Sales and Security on legal matters related to operations of the Accruent, drive company-wide legal initiatives, and assist with negotiation of customer agreements. Accruent is an international, fast-paced, rapidly-growing software company with 10,000+ customers and 1,000+ employees that is headquartered in Austin, Texas. This position is a great opportunity for the right attorney to deploy his or her knowledge to drive value across a broad organization while gaining valuable legal and business experience.

This position reports directly to the Director, Legal Counsel and will be located in Austin, Texas.

How you'll make a difference:

  • Research and provide advice on a wide range of legal matters regarding Accruent operations
  • Administer company-wide legal programs such as corporate governance, intellectual property, compliance, and policy management.
  • Assist with ad hoc legal initiatives (e.g. entity structuring, privacy/security, risk mitigation, etc.)
  • Support the contracts team in drafting and negotiating customer and partnership agreements
  • Work on potential M&A matters
  • Interact with outside counsel as needed

What you bring to the table:

  • Ability to thrive independently
  • Orientation towards continuous improvement
  • Working understanding of general corporate legal practices and contract law principals
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • Effective interaction with all levels and departments of a company and customers
  • Ability to proficiently use Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams) and ability to learn and use SaaS tools such as Salesforce, Docusign, Smartsheets and Lucid chart
  • JD from an accredited US law school
  • Membership and good standing in a State Bar
  • Approximately 3 years of in-house experience or law firm experience, with a preference for advising corporate clients on transactional matters
  • Additional experience with software or technology industry preferred but not required
