JOB SUMMARY
SABIC Americas Legal Department in Houston, Texas is seeking a true generalist to support our businesses and corporate functions. Reporting to the Regional Chief Counsel, you will be responsible for a wide variety of legal matters and will support a diverse array of businesses and functions.
- Seeking an in-house counsel with up to 5 years of experience providing proactive, professional and practical legal advice and support to business and operating units in the U.S. across Business Units and Functional teams.
- Supports Regional Chief Counsel in activities pertaining to devising and implementing both short and long term business strategy in a manner that meets legal and compliance requirements
- Provides regional M&A support and supports regional leadership initiatives
- Drafts and negotiates commercial agreements
- Promotes a strong and robust compliance culture, reinforcing the Company’s Code of Ethics and supporting Guidelines and supports compliance training
- Lead/Support compliance investigations
- Supports U.S. real estate transactions
- Strong communication skills and able to provide quality legal support in a simple, understandable and effective manner
ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS
- Juris Doctorate degree from an accredited law school
- Member in good standing of a US bar
- Three to five years of relevant experience in legal support of transactions, corporate functions and compliance
- Real Estate experience a plus
- In house experience with a multinational chemical/oil and gas company a plus
- Compliance experience a plus
