Overview:
Condé Nast’s Legal & Policy department is seeking a Junior Legal Counsel to work as liaison to the company's consumer magazines, entertainment division, websites and trade publications.
Primarily Responsibilities:
- Advise magazine personnel regarding intellectual property rights
- Negotiate license agreements with third parties
- Review and approve terms of freelance agreements negotiated by editorial personnel
- Analyze rights in archival materials
- Abstract license agreements
- Handle copyright infringement matters
- Training and advising permissions staff, accounting and editorial departments
Requirements:
- JD and bar admission required
- At least 1+ years’ work experience in a relevant field
Desired Skills & Qualifications:
- The ideal candidate has intellectual property experience in an entertainment environment (e.g., photography,
video/motion picture industry, music, etc.)
- Ability to produce quick, accurate and effective results, excellent interpersonal communication and negotiation
techniques are essential to this role
