Job Description:
Our in-house legal department is looking for a recent college graduate who is talented and motivated to learn more about the cross-section between law, venture capital, business, and technology. As a Legal Operations Associate, you will be a key member in the legal due diligence phase of our investment process. Some of the required skills include a keen attention to detail, superb organizational skills, and problem-solving capabilities. You will apply your talent and our training to summarize, draft, and analyze investment terms and track investments as our portfolio companies mature.
Responsibilities:
- Own every aspect of the legal due diligence process while finding ways to streamline processes, improve inter-department communication, and execute air-tight investments
- Review and summarize key terms of sophisticated venture capital financing documents
- Maintain and update portfolio data through regular contact with our portfolio companies
- Attend and record meetings with company founders and different departments within the Amidi Group and Plug & Play
- Research market trends
- Attend Expos, Demo Days, and other exclusive Plug & Play events
- Perform all general office/administrative duties that are required for this position
- As knowledge and experience increases, take ownership of new and different requests and add value through new job skills and accomplishments
Qualifications:
- A./B.S. from an accredited university—degrees in Economics, Finance, or a business-related field preferred, but not required
- Recent graduate with less than 3 years of experience (No JDs)
- Excellent written communication skills
- Comfortable with Microsoft Office
- Self-starting and seeks out new challenges
- Able to understand and synthesize complex ideas
- Experience with basic Excel functions or proficiency with numbers is a plus
- You take pride in your attention to detail and exercise precision in everything you do
- Interested in the venture capital industry and the legal field
