POSITION SUMMARY:
Nestlé USA, Inc., a leading food and beverage company, is seeking a business-savvy lawyer with deep experience in the areas of advertising, marketing, promotions, sales, and distribution to support Nestlé USA’s Premium Waters division. Ideal candidates will be solution-oriented and excel at delivering high quality, actionable, and timely legal advice.



PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
As a key member of both the business team and in the legal function, this role will:

  • Work directly with the NPW business team to develop and support business strategy.
  • Provide day-to-day advice to the business teams in the areas of advertising & marketing, labeling & claims, marketing services agreements, sales, and distribution, antitrust, product development, general commercial transactions, and compliance matters.
  • Draft and negotiate agreements with third parties related to marketing, advertising, promotions, and sales distribution
  • Coordinate the delivery of legal services from internal specialists and external counsel.
  • Provide ongoing risk assessments and crisis management support.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of the Legal department’s functional priorities.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • JD from accredited law school
  • Current membership in the Virginia State Bar or the ability to become Registered In-House Counsel in Virginia
  • Background representing large, complex businesses and working with senior leadership
  • Minimum of 4+ years relevant experience

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, including the ability to communicate complex issues and concepts to non-lawyers
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate with multiple stakeholders and team members
  • Experience conducting live trainings, and developing online trainings, on the topics of social media and other areas of digital media and other online business activities
  • High level of analytical, critical thinking, and problem solving skills, and the ability to solve problems proactively and with business acumen
  • Excellent project management skills
  • Strong contract drafting and negotiation skills
