WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
Nike Legal is looking for a new teammate to help the company navigate an unprecedented time of commercial disruption and evolution.
As Associate General Counsel in our North America legal team, you will help support Nike’s North America Marketplace Partners organization manage commercial relationships with thousands of retailers that represent our brand to consumers in the marketplace (both brick & mortar and digital). You will work on a world-class team of legal professionals at Nike World Headquarters (WHQ) in Beaverton, Oregon serving our clients posted at WHQ and offices across the United States and Canada.
Your work will focus on our efforts to manage our partners in the dynamic retail marketplace. You will be a critical player in helping develop, implement, and enforce our Terms and Conditions of Sale and related policies. You will help business leaders work with our retail partners, to ensure that they support the brand in both how and where they sell Nike products.
This role requires a unique combination of skills and experience; we are seeking a junior attorney with a premier legal education and excellent training, paired with a pragmatic and efficient business acumen. We need an attorney who brings legal expertise to the field but seamlessly fits in with a team of diverse backgrounds and talents!
The ideal candidate will have experience in contracts, litigation, and project management, as well as experience in directly supporting clients with prompt, practical, and prudent advice. Experience negotiating commercial contracts is a major plus. Experience in consumer products industries, in sales, distribution, and/or retail (brick & mortar and digital) is another major plus. Strong communication and drafting skills are critical, in everything from contracts to presentations, from email, text, and Slack. Substantive experience in any combination of corporate, commercial transactions, commercial litigation, bankruptcy, or antitrust practice areas will be excellent background for this role.

REQUIREMENTS
- Minimum 4 years of experience in a law firm or corporate legal department, or combination of both
- JD degree or equivalent
- Ability to obtain admission to the bar in Oregon (either general admission or house counsel)
- Strong bias for action and critical thinking skills
- Excellent analytical, collaboration and communication skills
- Strong teammate and servant leadership attitude
- Position based at Nike WHQ, in Beaverton, Oregon
- Periodic travel may be required
