Position Summary...
What you'll do...
Join the Global Governance Strategy and Operations Team to lead our outside counsel management, policy, and learning and development teams. You will play a critical role in developing Global Governance strategy and in enhancing our operational effectiveness and efficiency. You will work cross-functionally with all areas of Global Governance and with numerous business partners.
You’ll make an impact by:

Defining the strategy for developing and implementing Global Governance policies

Identifying, prioritizing, and managing risks to the company by defining the terms of our engagement with outside counsel and contractors
-
Overseeing our efforts to reduce legal spend
-
Developing the strategy for learning and development opportunities for global governance associates

Managing and developing a team of high performing associates
-
Collaborating with senior executives on significant risks
-
Leveraging technology to streamline processes, communication and workflows
You’ll sweep us off our feet if…

You have substantial, diverse legal or governance experience
-
You have experience building a new function or new capabilities
-
You have at least 5 years’ experience managing a team of attorneys or governance professionals
-
You have experience drafting and implementing Legal and Compliance policies in a corporate environment

You have strong communication skills to interact with senior executives and stakeholders
-
You empower your business partners while working collaboratively to achieve cross-functional goals within a corporate environment

You empower other members of your team to operate with autonomy while adhering to the standards that have come to define the Walmart brand

Minimum Qualifications...
