The Counsel’s primary responsibilities will be to provide legal support, advice and counsel for Jacksonville Jaguars and all related sports and entertainment properties, including Bold Events (private events and concerts). The Counsel will report to the EVP and Chief Legal Officer and will be part of a four person legal team, which includes another counsel and a legal coordinator. Specific responsibilities include the following: prepare, review and negotiate all varieties of legal documents, litigation management, employment matters, real estate matters, intellectual property management, understand past, present and future NFL rules (including the CBA) and workers compensation claim management.

Summary

Job Responsibilities
  • Prepare, review and negotiate all varieties of legal documents including but not limited to broadcast agreements, employment agreements, major facility-wide event agreements, catered event agreements, sponsorship agreements, merchandising agreements, suite lease agreements, vendor/service agreements, waivers, consents, real estate documents, finance documents, and legal correspondence for extensions, terminations, breach, trademark infringement, etc.
  • Work closely with individual departments and related entities to anticipate, identify and manage liability areas and legal exposure; risk management
  • Conduct document repository and policy audits to ensure company and related entities are in compliance with appropriate laws and internal policies and procedures; quality control
  • Advise on major business transactions
  • Review, understand, maintain and provide advice on all corporate documents, NFL documents and major partner agreements
  • Interpret, draft/revise and administer guidance related to NFL rules
  • Manage pending and open litigation matters and other claims internally and with the assistance of outside counsel
Job Requirements
  • 5+ years experience as a transactional attorney
  • Ability and flexibility to work and appreciate the varying interests of key stakeholders and a demonstrated ability to build consensus among multiple internal and external constituents
  • Ability to prioritize and execute against multiple projects under very tight deadlines
  • Licensed to practice law, be in good standing with the corresponding state bar association and have the ability to be registered as authorized house counsel in Florida within the established
