Facebook is seeking an experienced attorney who is enthusiastic about technology and its potential for positive impact in peoples’ lives to serve as the Associate General Counsel on the Product Legal team that supports Facebook’s Ads and Business Product Integrity group. This position will manage a team of lawyers supporting and providing end-to-end legal support to the policy, operations, and product teams caring for the safety and integrity of Facebook’s Ads & Business Products, with a specific focus on leading support for a variety of business integrity and enforcement. This position will report to the Director and Associate General Counsel for Ads & Business Product and Facebook Business Group. Associate General Counsel, Product (Ads & Business Integrity) Responsibilities
  • Manage a team of attorneys, including outside counsel, who provide front-line legal support to the teams responsible for building and managing the policies, systems, and products related to the integrity of Facebook’s Ads & Business Products
  • Lead across and coordinate with policy, operations, and product teams to implement and enforce the rules and requirements governing use of Facebook’s Ads & Business Products
  • Manage, support and help efficiently resolve escalations involving Facebook’s Ads & Business Products, including consumer, policy and press inquiries
  • Work with outside counsel, policy, and international legal colleagues to support pre-litigation, litigation and regulatory matters, and to track evolving legal requirements across the globe and industry verticals that impact integrity for Facebook’s Ads & Business Products
  • Provide legal advice across many subject areas, including privacy, data protection, global legal frameworks, intermediary liability, consumer protection laws, and regulated areas of advertising and commercial content and activity
  • Develop creative and pragmatic approaches to managing legal risks related to advertising and commercial content and activity, and oversee the development of scalable training, standard programs and processes to deliver legal guidance
Minimum Qualifications
  • J.D. degree (or foreign equivalent) and membership in at least one US state bar
  • 8+ years of legal experience as a practicing attorney (including at a law firm or in-house experience)
  • Experience directly leading a team of attorneys/legal professionals and/or managing client relationships with business leaders
  • Experience advising on legal and/or regulatory issues (including privacy) that apply to online advertising, e-commerce, social networking, or other related technologies
Preferred Qualifications
  • In-house legal and product counseling experience
  • Knowledge of legal frameworks that apply to data-driven advertising or e-commerce
  • Experience advising clients on risk mitigation across technology product platforms, social networking, or other internet/platform companies
  • Experience with US and global privacy frameworks and regulations
  • Content liability counseling related to CDA 230 or similar international frameworks
