WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

We need a Senior Paralegal to join us at NIKE’s World Headquarters in Beaverton, Oregon, to provide overall paralegal support to a team of attorneys in support of NIKE’s Global Marketplace. NIKE’s Global Marketplace is comprised of NIKE’s direct-to-consumer business (“Nike Direct”), NIKE’s wholesale business (“Marketplace Partners”), and the “Connected Marketplace,” which is focused on building deeper relationships between NIKE Direct and its Marketplace Partners. The best paralegals are organized, flexible multitaskers with an ability to prioritize tasks and solve problems with a high degree of independence.

WHAT WILL YOU WORK ON?

On any given day, you may be preparing for a presentation to the business about how to submit a contract request, drafting a commercial agreement, connecting cross-functional partners, or driving a project to improve / implement a new strategy or process. In this role, you will lead special projects in support of the Global Marketplace Legal team and be responsible for drafting and negotiating various commercial and digital agreements for NIKE’s Global Marketplace.

These would include commercial retail partnership, vendor digital agreements, and other services agreements. Under the supervision of a lawyer, you will provide strategic counseling to business stakeholders and prepare and deliver trainings to enhance compliance. You’ll work on a dynamic team in a fast-paced environment and engage with cross-functional teammates and various business groups.

WHO WILL YOU WORK WITH?

You will report to the Assistant General Counsel, Global Nike Direct Digital Commerce, and collaborate with a broad range of legal professional across the globe, including other paralegals, legal assistants, privacy analysts, and attorneys. In addition, you will work directly with business partners within the Global Nike Direct, Connected Marketplace, and Global Marketplace Partners organizations. People will appreciate your ability to be resourceful in the face of ambiguity and to find solutions that help the business move forward.

WHAT YOU BRING TO NIKE?
  • Bachelor's degree or higher or combination of relevant education, experience, and training
  • Intellectual curiosity, an ownership-mindset, and an ability to adapt in a fast-paced working environment
  • A minimum of 4+ years’ experience as a paralegal, preferably in a large law firm or supporting technology transactions in a Fortune 500 company, with a significant focus on commercial transactions in support of consumer digital products and experiences
  • Demonstrated experience drafting and negotiating a high volume of agreements
  • An understanding of the application of consumer protection and data privacy laws in the context of consumer digital experiences
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including a demonstrated ability to communicate at all levels
  • Bias for action and ability to work independently within a multinational organization
  • Excellent judgment and organizational skills, with a consistent track record to prioritize and handle multiple projects and complete tasks accurately, on schedule and with minimal supervision
  • Strong team player and ability to work cross-functionally in a complex organizational structure
  • Demonstrated ability to learn business requirements quickly, analyze legal and commercial risks and propose creative, business-oriented solutions
  • Ability to successfully create and implement process in organizations
  • Proficient computer skills
  • Flexibility and willingness to take on new tasks in new or unfamiliar areas of the law
  • Proficient legal research and analysis skills
  • Paralegal certificate a plus
  • International and global experience a plus
