The Global Trade Compliance Legal team's goal is to enable and support the company's import and export needs while ensuring compliance with trade regulations.

Our team is responsible for analyzing and interpreting legal regulations and statutes, advising customers, and submitting government filings. As a Legal Assistant, you will have a lead role in preparing materials for the filing of deemed-export license applications, including engaging and coordinating with internal groups, communicating with recruiters, and candidates to gather information, and driving the management of filed and issued licenses. You are a confident and polished communicator and writer and possess a technical aptitude. You are comfortable troubleshooting issues, documenting work, and moving issues and resolutions forward at a steady pace. You will manage multiple tasks efficiently, use excellent acumen, and work productively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

Responsibilities

  • Review export control questionnaires from employees and visitors and allow-listing individuals to access projects and/or sites.
  • Help with general case management administration and organization of key documents.
  • Assist with the collection of relevant materials to file license applications.
  • Coordinate with external legal counsel and analyze data; identify potential risk areas.
  • Assist with other facets of Google’s export compliance program as needed; assist with deemed export license applications, letters of assurance, and tracking.
