Job Description

As a Legal Counsel you will…

  • Provide primary legal support for contract review, drafting, redlining, and negotiation of vendor contracts;
  • Lead the development and implementation of a new contract review and intake process;
  • Partner with the business team to develop strategic and innovative ways to continually improve the contracting process;
  • Serve as lead counsel for the coordination of appropriate internal resources to complete contract review and negotiation;
  • Serve as main point of contact for development and maintenance of contract templates.
    Regulatory and General Support
  • Research and analyze retail and healthcare laws and regulations.
  • Advise clients with respect to the application of federal and state laws and regulations to the Company’s business activities for lines of business supported;
  • Provide legal expertise on Retail initiatives, projects and/or specialized legal matters affecting the Retail team and perform special research projects.

Dispute Resolution

  • Advise clients with respect to various vendor demand letters and assist, as requested, with pre-litigation dispute resolution;
  • Review and advise on legal issues associated with contract terminations.

In order to be successful in this role you must exhibit the following:

  • Expert knowledge of and experience with vendor contracting required;
  • Experience advising on healthcare or retail issues;
  • Demonstrated business judgment and acumen required;
  • Superior oral and written communication skills required;
  • High level of interpersonal skills and ability to manage multiple client areas required;
  • Superior problem-solving skills required

Required Qualifications

5+ years legal experience
Ability to travel up to 5%

COVID Requirements

Education

Juris Doctor from ABA-accredited institution required
