The Associate General Counsel, M&A, will provide transactional and M&A legal support to Citi's global businesses, working closely with corporate M&A execution, business and functional teams. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Advising on structuring, deal documentation--actively negotiate global transactions across Citi businesses.
  • Drafting and/or reviewing with external counsel all relevant transaction documentation.
  • providing regular reports on deal status - including regulatory approvals, key issues and external legal expense.
  • Preparing approval documents for M&A Committee and Citi Boards.
  • Supporting Citi’s Resolution Planning exercise.

Qualifications:

  • JD is required.
  • Attorney must be licensed to practice law and a member in good standing in in the state/jurisdiction in which the position is based.
  • 10+ years in M&A department of large law firm -- preferably representing financial services clients.
  • Excellent organizational and communications skills.
  • Ability to work on multiple, complex transactions in fast paced, energetic department.
  • Experience with fintech M&A and partnerships a plus.
