Job Description and Requirements

Synopsys, Inc. (NASDAQ: SNPS) has an outstanding legal department under the direction of the General Counsel and Corporate Secretary. The Corporate Legal Group within the legal department oversees a variety of corporate matters including M&A, securities, ethics & compliance, privacy, procurement, corporate social responsibility (CSR), and more. The Corporate Legal Group is hiring a Director of Ethics & Compliance to lead the ethics and compliance program.  This role will be responsible for managing and continually enhancing Synopsys’ program to drive a culture that encourages ethical conduct, a commitment to integrity, and compliance with laws.  This is a critical role reporting into the Deputy General Counsel and Chief Ethics & Compliance Officer.
 
Responsibilities:
 

  • Oversee Synopsys’ global Ethics & Compliance program
  • Provide strategic direction and advise on ethical, legal and regulatory compliance matters across the company primarily in the areas of anti-corruption, conflicts of interest, and antitrust.
  • Drive program objectives, milestones, metrics and reporting to continually enhance and scale Synopsys’ global ethics and compliance program.
  • Conduct investigations of suspected noncompliance with the law or Synopsys Code of Ethics.
  • Conduct ethics and compliance risk assessments and related remediation efforts. 
  • Build relationships with site leaders, channel managers, event managers, and third-party resellers and vendors to bring awareness of and education about Synopsys’ ethics and compliance program
  • Drive expansion of the use of automated systems to implement controls and process requests and approvals.
  • Provide thought leadership to develop and implement creative and effective Ethics & Compliance education and awareness campaigns and work collaboratively with other members of the corporate legal group to drive global awareness of other CSR initiatives.

Requirements:  
 

  • Minimum 10+ years of legal experience with a minimum of 5 years in a corporate compliance department, analyzing, creating, implementing, and managing compliance programs for multi-national companies. Experience in an established company in the technology sector would be particularly valuable.
  • Collaborative by nature and able to build strong partnerships around the company.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, impeccable integrity, good judgment, flexible, and pragmatic.
  • Creative problem solver who possesses sound business judgment, is detail-oriented, and a self-starter.
