So it’s a good thing they have the support of talented Paralegals. Assisting attorneys in a variety of legal business related to our complex organization, the team enjoys varied responsibilities. These range from liaising between in-house attorneys and outside counsel, through to collecting and summarizing legal research. They also prepare, proof, edit and file drafts of contracts, leases, licenses and insurance policies.

What you’ll achieve

As a Security & IT Paralegal, you will be responsible for providing legal support to, and under the direction of, the Security & IT Legal Team. You will provide research, drafting, reviewing, tracking and other assistance for the global Security & IT Legal Team, as well as assist with other special projects and programs. You will maintain key documentation of Dell’s compliance with global IT and Security laws, and provide expertise concerning emerging security and information technology trends, regulations and other developments.  Reporting to the Senior Managing Legal Director, Security & Resiliency and IT Legal, you will work with cross-functional business functions, including: IT, Cybersecurity, Product & Application Security, Global Security Operations, Governance Risk & Compliance, Training & Development, Privacy and Ethics & Compliance,


You will:

  • Assist the Security & IT Legal team with monitoring security and information technology laws, regulatory developments and tracking compliance activities, as well as the manage the security and IT legal risks sections of the global risk registry
  • Maintain and  organize central files, templates, knowledge management resources for the Security & IT Legal Team and Other practice support activities as assigned (e.g., presentation design/management, coordinate training & development programs)
  • Conduct legal research and analysis to support the Security & IT Legal Team, under the direction of the corresponding legal counsel.
  • Assists counsel in implementing company-wide compliance, regulatory and legal practices and programs
  • Provide Project/Program Management support for Security & IT Legal team as needed

Essential Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or the equivalent
  • Paralegal certification or equivalent experience at a law firm or in-house at a multinational corporation
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, changing environment while organizing and managing multiple responsibilities and projects with competing priorities and deadlines
  • Expertise with Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Archer (preferred)
  • Superior written and oral communication and emotional intelligence skills for interactions with internal and external stakeholders across all levels and departmental functions
  • Experience in legal project management and legal risk management activities


Desirable Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience working on cybersecurity, information technology, privacy or other compliance matters either at a law firm or in-house legal department at a multinational corporation
  • Familiarity with global cybersecurity, information technology and/or privacy laws (e.g., GDPR, GLBA, HIPAA, NYDFS, PCI-DSS, PIPL, LGPD, CCPA/CPRA), terminology and trends
  • Industry certifications a plus (e.g., CIPP, CIPT, CISSP)
