Posted Feb 18 Full TimeRemoteLos Angeles, California Meta is seeking a highly motivated attorney for its global cybersecurity legal team. Working under the leadership of the Director and Associate General Counsel for Cybersecurity Law & Investigations, this attorney will work on a range of cybersecurity matters and investigations for the Meta family of products: Facebook, Reality Labs, Novi, Instagram, and WhatsApp. The position will be responsible for, among other duties, helping to protect our users and their data by providing legal advice: to teams investigating malicious activity on Meta’s platforms; to engineering teams to design and implement innovative security solutions; and, to business and engineering teams responsible for responding to cybersecurity incidents. This is a great opportunity to join a growing team and to work on novel issues in an exciting, fast-paced environment. This full-time position requires travel within and outside the United States, as well as work during evenings, weekends and holidays when necessary to support urgent matters and to collaborate with our employees throughout the world.
Counsel, Cybersecurity Law and Investigations Responsibilities

Support efforts to maintain and enhance Meta's security posture

Provide support and legal counsel during investigations to ensure they are conducted and documented appropriately to minimizes risks and protects users' privacy and security

Work with investigation teams to prevent spamming, fraud, malware, and other abuses on Meta’s platforms

Support and oversee information sharing efforts

Support regulatory engagement efforts on cybersecurity related matters

Support incident response

Work with Meta’s security teams and human resources to assess and mitigate insider threats

Review and provide guidance on security plans
Minimum Qualifications
-
JD degree (or foreign equivalent) and membership in at least one US state bar
-
2+ years of legal experience, including experience in cybersecurity law and investigations

Knowledge and experience with cybersecurity, data protection, criminal procedure, and national security laws

Experience in drafting and/or executing legal documents (e.g. legal agreements, court submissions)

Communications and presentation experience

Experience working with data protection authorities, financial institutions, and Internet industry associations
