GoDaddy (NYSE: GDDY), the company that empowers everyday entrepreneurs, seeks an experienced corporate transactions attorney to support domestic and international mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, strategic investments, and other corporate transactions. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in the company’s mergers & acquisitions program and support our growth and strategic vision. This role will report to the VP, Legal – Corporate, M&A, Governance & Legal Operations.

What you'll get to do...

  • Lead legal aspects of transactions independently and with minimal direct supervision, interacting directly with internal stakeholders, deal counterparties, external counsel and other advisors
  • Develop and execute legal and business strategy in close partnership with the Corporate and Business Development team and business sponsors & their teams
  • Counsel the company’s executives and senior leadership on structuring, negotiating and closing strategic transactions, emphasizing a pragmatic, business-oriented approach to problem-solving
  • Structure and supervise efficient legal due diligence reviews designed to identify key risks, evaluate their potential impact on the company, and develop effective action plans to mitigate such risks
  • Draft and negotiate deal documentation, partnering closely with external counsel for support as needed
  • Work closely with colleagues on the Corporate and Business Development & Strategic Initiatives teams to further build and innovate the company’s M&A program
  • Design and provide training on M&A and corporate transactions to internal teams

Your experience should include...

  • Acting as the lead counsel on domestic and international M&A and other corporate transactions, including being a primary negotiator of key deal terms with counterparties and their counsel
  • Demonstrating a depth of legal knowledge, including familiarity with specialized areas that arise frequently in M&A and other corporate transactions (e.g., accounting, corporate tax, employee benefits, employment matters, executive compensation, antitrust, and securities)
  • Effectively joining forces with internal and external stakeholders, including Total Rewards, Treasury, Corporate Accounting, Corporate Strategy, Compliance, Litigation and Investor Relations
  • Exhibiting excellent business judgment and strategic thinking
  • Comfortably and confidently advising and interacting with executives and senior leaders, and having a demonstrated ability to earn their confidence and serve as a trusted advisor
  • Displaying excellent communication skills, both written and oral, and a keen attention to detail
  • Thriving as part of a collaborative and fun team committed to delivering white-glove client service in a fast-paced and rapidly changing environment
  • Being able to work independently and collaboratively and manage multiple projects in an efficient and timely manner
