OVERVIEW
Seeking an experienced risk professional to lead the Apartments.com Trust and Safety team. You will lead a growing team of fraud investigators, a project manager, and a data analyst to protect our platforms, including rental payments, from fraud and abuse.
As a leader within the Apartments organization and a subject matter expert in your field, you will be responsible for growing and scaling teams, processes, and tools. You will regularly engage with senior leadership, analytics teams, product managers, developers, cross-functional partners, and vendors to develop strategy, drive roadmaps, build risk systems and platforms, increase automation, and ensure operational excellence.
ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES
You’ll develop, implement, own, and improve end-to-end risk processes.
You’ll design scalable risk and fraud prevention and detection solutions that account for customer growth, product innovation, and a diverse group of marketplaces.
You’ll collaborate with key cross functional stakeholders to mitigate risk across CoStar Group’s suite of brands.
You’ll work closely with development teams to build fraud solutions into products.
You’ll lead, develop, and mentor a high-performing team.
You’ll produce metrics to show the performance of the fraud prevention teams and systems for use in management reporting.
You’ll manage and develop a vendor portfolio that complements our suite of internal fraud detection and security applications.
You’ll manage complicated escalations, including press inquiries, and quickly execute remediation strategies.
You’ll build solutions that reduce spam across our platforms, enhancing the customer experience, and improving our products.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
8+ years of experience in within risk, fraud, cyber security, trust and safety, investigations, payments, or spam prevention
5+ years of experience building, managing, and leading teams
Knowledge of e-commerce and payments industry practices (e.g., disputes processes, fraud types, and network rules)
Experience using anti-fraud machine learning and analytical reporting software
Experience working with ambiguity, make recommendations to a wide range of stakeholders, and deliver results.
Strong project management skills with experience delivering high quality results in tight deadline environments
Outstanding written and verbal communications skills and comfort engaging with senior leadership
Bachelor’s degree in Technology, Business, Statistics, Public Policy, or related field
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS
Experience writing SQL to query relational databases is a plus
Experience managing fraud and risk across multiple marketplaces
Masters’ degree in Technology, Business, Statistics, Public Policy, or related field
