Qualifications

Minimum qualifications:

  • JD or equivalent degree.
  • 3 years of attorney-level experience in a law firm/in-house legal department.
  • Admitted to the bar and in good standing or otherwise authorized to practice law (e.g., have registered in-house status) in the state in which the position is located.
  • Experience advising clients in structuring commercial transactions and commercial agreements.

Preferred qualifications:

  • 5 years of attorney-level experience in a law firm/in-house legal department.
  • Experience drafting and managing service agreements, business contracts, licenses, alliance agreements, and intellectual property agreements.
  • Experience with cloud computing, business associate agreements, professional services, and privacy law.
  • Experience advising on data privacy matters and data security requirements.
  • Demonstrated contributions to the culture of your workplace and commitment to diversity and inclusion.
  • Ability to manage several simultaneous projects with deadlines with excellent organizational skills.

Responsibilities

  • Review, draft, and negotiate commercial agreements, intellectual property licenses, and statements of work for Google Cloud.
  • Manage agreements that comply with company policies and risk tolerance.
  • Respond promptly to legal requests from Google Cloud Sales team, Professional Services team, Marketing, and other clients, summarizing and communicating legal concepts that business people can use.
  • Advise business clients, as well as Finance and other company colleagues, on legal issues and risks, approval processes, company policies and procedures, and intellectual property, and business strategy.
  • Support the continuous improvement of standard form agreements and legal processes for customers, resellers, and partnership agreements and contribute to transformation projects with the goal of increasing velocity and efficiency.
