The Legal Compliance Organization (LCO) team headquartered in Milpitas, CA and second headquarters in Ann Arbor, MI provides legal guidance to further KLA’s strategic objectives and protect and preserve the legal, ethical and financial integrity and reputation of the Company. With specific expertise in the areas of corporate law, commercial law, employment law, and intellectual property; the LCO offers strategic legal counsel that is informed by a clear understanding of the company’s business objectives and expertise in the laws and regulations relevant to the business worldwide.

KLA is seeking a highly motivated and experienced ethics & legal compliance professional to join its growing global Ethics & Legal Compliance Group as an Ethics & Legal Compliance Program Manager. This position will report directly to KLA's Managing Counsel, Asia. The individual must have a passion for ethics & compliance issues and have uncompromising integrity.

KLA's Ethics & Legal Compliance Group sits within KLA's Legal Compliance Organization (LCO) team headquartered in Milpitas, CA. The LCO provides legal guidance to further KLA’s strategic objectives and protect and preserve the legal, ethical and financial integrity and reputation of the Company. With specific expertise in the areas of corporate law, commercial law, employment law, and intellectual property law; the LCO offers strategic legal counsel that is informed by a clear understanding of the company’s business objectives and expertise in the laws and regulations relevant to the business worldwide.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

The successful candidate will be responsible for, among other things:

  • Ensuring implementation and development of KLA's Compliance and anti-corruption processes and controls, with a specific focus on third party due diligence and training;
  • Assisting in developing & executing KLA ethics & compliance training curriculum and communications strategy, including working with outside vendors and in-house IT professionals to develop, problem solve, and deliver online training through KLA's learning management system;
  • Acting as a trusted advisor on Compliance and data privacy related topics, and if needed, ensuring local adaptation of such policies, processes and training or materials in order to effectively address local specific compliance risks;
  • Ensuring that regular Compliance updates for Management are conducted and resulted action items are tracked;
  • Undertaking compliance investigations and audits and ensure appropriate remediation measures are taken, if applicable;
  • In general, assisting with developing processes & procedures for KLA’s ethics & compliance programs.

 

Minimum Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS

This position will have a strong operational focus, and thus the successful candidate must:

  • Possess superb project management & analytical skills, and be IT savvy -- the individual must have strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, SharePoint, Microsoft Teams, Tableau, Power BI, and other tools utilized in ethics & compliance programs;
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently, with no or little oversight, and be able to problem solve an issue and develop creative solutions by working collaboratively with multiple cross-border and cross-cultural teams simultaneously;
  • Have uncompromising integrity & a passion for ethics & legal compliance issues;
  • Have at least 5 years of in-house experience at a major technology company as an ethics & compliance professional or a related function, like internal audit;
  • Have experience in risk assessment and running anti-corruption laws and anti-corruption due diligence programs, including excellent and detailed research and analytical skills (needed for preventive risk management, case management, due diligences);
  • Have experience in developing and delivering ethics & compliance training and communication programs;
  • Possess excellent oral and written communication skills, ability to manage stakeholders on CEO/CFO level;
  • Demonstrated knowledge of legal, regulatory and political environments of experience in business – including UK Bribery Act, FCPA, fraud and abuse statutes, anti-money laundering laws, data protection and privacy law.
