Minimum qualifications:
- Experience in legal support operations, including reviewing removal requests, answering user questions, working with vendors, and interfacing with internal stakeholders.
- Experience with resolving escalations.
Preferred qualifications:
- Experience with implementing or running a training or quality assurance program.
- Experience with SQL.
- Ability to analyze and cite precedents on copyright-ability, United States and international safe harbor compliance, and copyright exceptions (e.g., fair use).
- Ability to build relationships with cross-functional partners.
- Understanding of copyright law.
- Excellent business judgment, communication, influencing, and analytical skills, including using data to drive strategy and business action.

As a Copyright Operations Specialist, you will manage high-risk internal escalations, and design and implement strategies to improve our copyright compliance program. You will resolve legal challenges, scale and streamline complex workflows, provide outstanding customer support, educate internal stakeholders, and improve the YouTube copyright experience for our users.
You will balance the legal and regulatory requirements we encounter with the needs of YouTube's users, partners, and advertisers.
In this role, you will work on-call, on weekends, or on a rotational basis.

Responsibilities
- Process escalated copyright takedown requests, counter notifications, and other related requests, such as appeals of enforcement action from sensitive entities.
- Coordinate a variety of cross-functional stakeholders to align decisions and communications for novel legal fact patterns.
- Respond to internal and external customer inquiries regarding YouTube's copyright compliance processes, including those from executive stakeholders.
- Design and drive policy and process improvements to scale our operations and enhance operational efficiency and quality.
- Develop educational materials to improve both internal and external customer experience.
