Amazon's Legal Department is looking for an experienced and talented occupational health & safety attorney to be based in Seattle to support Amazon’s Global Real Estate and Facilities’ (GREF) corporate office health and safety team. The scale and complexity of GREF’s worldwide workplace health and safety program is rapidly growing as a part of corporate office workplace services. We are looking for an experienced attorney to help build and develop scalable industry leading safety solutions for our employees and service providers in corporate workplaces across numerous jurisdictions.
You will be a part of the GREF Legal team responsible for counseling Amazon’s GREF business on all Real Estate, Facilities and Workplace matters across the world. Your focus will be on a broad range of regulatory compliance matters, specifically and primarily including health & safety, and global security matters but also environmental, trade, and even products to the extent these matters come into play in our workplace health and safety program. You will have the opportunity to advise on legal requirements in, and to learn about different health & safety regimes across, the Americas and beyond. You will collaborate with GREF Legal and Amazon attorneys around the globe to support pioneering business initiatives, gain intimate knowledge about how our corporate workplace is evolving, and work directly with health and safety, operations and facilities teams to develop commercial solutions to global compliance issues.
Principal duties include developing compliance policies and procedures, providing day-to-day compliance guidance to the health and safety and operations teams, monitoring and advising the business of upcoming regulatory changes, working cross-functionally with other teams to ensure compliance, and resolving issues that arise during regulatory interactions, including inspections.
Qualified candidates must have five or more years of legal practice experience advising on occupational health & safety laws and programs and regulatory compliance matters. The successful candidate must be enthusiastic, pragmatic, enjoy working hard and being challenged, and demonstrate sound judgment even in ambiguous situations. A J.D. degree and membership in one state bar is required.
