Position Summary

As an integral member of the Nestlé Health Science Legal Department, the Senior Paralegal partners with the attorneys on the team to perform substantive legal work and analysis on a wide variety of issues.  This role will serve as the subject matter expert for contracts, ranging from contract drafting and review under attorney supervision to the management of the contracting process as well as the contracts training for internal stakeholders.  
RESPONSIBILITIES:
•    Draft, review, negotiate and finalize a wide variety of contracts under the general supervision of an attorney (including non-disclosure, master service, consulting, research, grant, physician service and standard limited license agreements).
•    Lead the contract process through the entire life cycle of contracts, including cataloguing and tracking the status of contracts, training internal clients on contract forms and procedures, maintaining a contract filing system and developing and implementing projects to make the contracting process more efficient and effective. 
•    Take a leadership role in representing the Legal Department on collaborations, cross-functional projects and broader Nestle-wide initiatives
•    Perform legal and other related research on various issues, including FDA labeling and FTC sales and marketing requirements, federal and state healthcare fraud and abuse laws, as well as general corporate governance and compliance matters.
•    Manage the corporate records, organize Board meetings, prepare Board resolutions and meeting minutes
•    Provide assistance with device licensing & vendor certification requirements
EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
•    Bachelor’s Degree required 
•    Paralegal Certificate from ABA-approved program preferred 
•    Minimum 10 years of paralegal experience
•    In-house corporate paralegal experience preferred
•    Experience in consumer goods, life sciences, pharmaceutical, medical device or other healthcare-related fields (including knowledge of contracting issues specific to the healthcare industry) preferred
•    FDA and/or FTC regulatory experience a plus
•    Ability to proactively develop and implement process improvements and efficiencies
PREFERRED SKILLS
•    Advanced understanding of business and contract law
•    Ability to deal directly with clients and give direction regarding legal elements of contracts
•    Understanding of life cycle of contracts and knowledge of contracting issues and contract management processes
•    Good business judgment and initiative, the ability to make independent and decisive action and know when to seek advice
•    Strong investigative and problem-solving skills    
•    Flexible and motivated self-starter who can work independently as well as part of cross-functional teams
•    Adept at learning new processes and skills
•    Ability to effectively manage and prioritize multiple projects and tight deadlines proactively with minimal supervision
•    Highly organized
•    Excellent communication skills
•    Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office
