Attorney working as part of the department's Business Units and Sales team responsible for a wide range of complex commercial transactions for Micron's domestic and international business teams.  This role partners closely with the Micron business units to help Micron achieve its business goals while managing risk, as well as addresses a variety of legal issues arising across sales, marketing, quality, and supply chain and providing legal advice and counsel into company business positions and strategies. The attorney will lead for some projects and for others work collaboratively with other attorneys both in-house and outside in the development, marketing, and sale of Micron’s innovative products and will regularly counsel and advise Micron’s senior leadership teams. 

Responsibilities

  • Provide pragmatic, business-oriented legal advice and solutions to support business teams in meeting strategic and commercial goals and enhancing customer relationships 
  • Review, negotiate and draft a variety of commercial agreements, waivers, disclaimers, quality requirements, marketing materials and other documents supporting the marketing, sales and qualification of Micron’s products 
  • Assist business teams with planning and development of new product initiatives and growing opportunities in existing and future market segments 
  • Provide legal support relating to semiconductor industry related standards, including standards relating to emerging technologies for mobile, networking, AI, automotive, IOT, medical, cyber security and other applications  
  • Perform a vital cross-functional role with other legal groups, and with supply chain, engineering, quality, security and other organizations, in connection with a variety of operational, commercial, compliance and risk related matters 
  • Provide proactive legal support regarding safety designated products, and assist to identify and monitor potential safety concerns related to technology applications 
  • Manage and regularly follow up on matters and interact with outside counsel 

Qualifications 

  • An excellent working and practical knowledge of commercial law across geographies and practice and at least ten years of experience in drafting and negotiating complex commercial agreements  
  • Experience in drafting, negotiating and problem solving in a cross jurisdictional environment 
  • Experience defining and reviewing quality requirements, agreements and claims 
  • A strong executive presence in interactions with senior leadership 
  • A demonstrated ability to collaborate and build relationships, gain credibility, and partner with others, including an experienced business perspective and high degree of ethics and integrity, as well as strategic/conceptual thinking capabilities 
  • Outstanding interpersonal relationships and business acumen with in-depth familiarity with at least three of the above mentioned industries 
  • JD from an ABA accredited law school with high academic achievement and bar admission and current membership in good standing within the United States is required (or an equivalent from a foreign jurisdiction)
