Legal Operations Management Lead

The Legal Operations Management Lead will be key in maintaining, improving, and developing processes and practices to support the day-to-day efficiency and effectiveness of the North American legal team. The Operations Management Lead will work closely with the head of the legal group, key leaders in the legal group, and business stakeholders at all levels of the company.
This role will involve managing and supporting projects across the full range of subject matters supported by the legal team. The successful candidate must be able to adapt to changing priorities and business needs, and be proactive in identifying areas of need and generating action plans. Responsibilities include:
- Define and drive strategic and operational initiatives for department administration
- Project management (organize, lead, execute, and report) re varying legal group projects and initiatives
- Supports management of group budget – includes regular budget maintenance, annual budget preparation, and management and tracking of POs, payments, and group spend
- Report on key operational and substantive metrics for the legal group that will better inform decision-making
- Support and create effective presentations – including for head of group, and other key leaders on the legal team as needed
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including facilities, HR, business development, IT, and finance, as well as various business units
- Manage and maintain business continuity planning for the group
- Monitors and manages legal department tools, processes, and vendors
- Manage internal legal group intranet site
- Plan and/or support in-house and off-site team building activities and events
- Provide direct support to head of group
Minimum Requirements:
- A degree in business administration or in a related field, or equivalent work experience
- 3+ years related experience
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
- Proven track record of collaboration to set meaningful objectives and produce results
- Must have budget management experience
- Ability to manage multiple projects with minimal direction
- Strong experience in independently creating executive-level presentations and reports
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office products (Powerpoint, Outlook, Excel, and Word)
Preferred, but not required:
- Project Management certification and/or special training
- Previous experience specifically in a corporate legal department
