Zillow Group’s Legal & Compliance team is looking for an outstanding experienced product attorney who thrives in a dynamic, collaborative and customer-focused environment. This lawyer will be the main individual responsible for providing product support to one of our high profile third party products. Applicants will have exceptional attention to detail, possess excellent communication skills and ability to foster strong relationships across functions and levels.

 

About the role

  • Service as the initial legal point-of-contact and be responsible for handling a broad range of legal matters, with a focus on licensing, technology, data rights and marketing.
  • Draft, review and negotiate standard and non-standard commercial agreements, including customer agreements, online terms and conditions, professional service agreements, and a variety of other commercial contracts.
  • Provide legal support and guidance on marketing and other advertising initiatives.
  • Consult and provide prompt, strategic, and accurate advice and guidance on new products and innovations, helping the business understand and evaluate the proposed activities and make recommendations to senior management.
  • Provide sound, practical advice and guidance on legal and business-related issues to senior business leaders.
  • Mentor junior attorneys on product counseling.
  • Collaborate with other internal partners, including other product attorneys, privacy, finance, risk management and information security and compliance.

 

This role has been categorized as a Remote position. “Remote” employees do not have a permanent corporate office workplace and, instead, work from a physical location of their choice which must be identified to the Company. Employees may live in any of the 50 US States, with limited exceptions. In certain cases, an employee in a remote-designated job may need to live in a specific region or time zone to support customers or clients as part of their role.
 
In Colorado, Connecticut, Nevada and New York City the standard base pay range for this role is $118,600.00 - $189,400.00 Annually. This base pay range is specific to Colorado, Connecticut, Nevada and New York City and may not be applicable to other locations.
 
In addition to a competitive base salary this position is also eligible for equity awards based on factors such as experience, performance and location. Actual amounts will vary depending on experience, performance and location.

 

Who you are

  • 4+ years of negotiating complex licensing, intellectual property, and commercial agreements a must, at least 2 years’ in-house experience preferred
  • Experience supporting business-to-business products preferred
  • A responsive project manager, skilled at communicating (orally and in writing) effectively with business partners
  • Aptitude for innovative and goal oriented problem solving
  • Able to demonstrate good judgment and evaluate risk while considering the larger picture
  • Conscientious, detail-orientated, and meticulous practitioner
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to successfully handle competing, time-sensitive projects
  • JD with active state bar admission
