
As the Government Affairs Manager – Political Action Committee for Cox Enterprises in our public policy office in Washington, D.C, you’ll take more than just an interest in government affairs…you’ll take action. You’ll be responsible for engaging our employees and representing Cox in the nation’s capital.
What You’ll Do
If you’re great at multitasking and wearing many hats, this might be the job for you. In this role, you’ll be the point of contact for managing multiple responsibilities in support of the PAC and support a variety of research, relationship building, advocacy and operational efforts for the Government Affairs team, including the following:
Supporting the management of the annual solicitation campaign and other engagement efforts.
Providing administrative support including, but not limited to:
Providing event support for PAC activities, managing and coordinating all PAC events, and tracking participation in all PAC events.
Assisting with the preparation of presentation materials and internal documents for the broader Government Affairs team.
Creating and editing content for the company’s intranet for the Government Affairs team and any PAC related content.
Providing basic research and drafting talking points for Congressional meetings.
Providing support in the development of and advocacy for company public policy positions before Congress.
Building relationships with Congress members (and their staffs), trade associations and industry colleagues.
Who You Are
A bachelor's degree in a related field and three (3) to five (5) years of governmental affairs, fund-raising, compliance, public policy, or related experience.
The ability to research, analyze data and derive facts.
The ability to work in a team environment.
The ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.).
Strong verbal, written communication, and organizational skills.
Strong work ethic and self-motivation.
Previous experience in a Congressional office and/or on political campaign/fundraising is highly desired.
An interest in the broadband or automotive industries (preferred).
Knowledge of Congressional process (preferred).
