Investigates moderate-to-high risk level team member complaints, analyzes findings, recommends appropriate conclusive action, and conducts follow up work on remedial and preventative measures.  Provides consultation to managers and Human Resources (HR) in reporting results of fact-finding investigations into Team Member complaints.  Prepares and presents written and verbal investigative reports and recommendations.  At all times maintain the highest levels of professionalism, integrity, fairness, and diligence.

 

Major Responsibilities/Essential Functions:

  • Manage personal case load of internal investigations assigned to the incumbent by his/her supervisor. Conduct thorough fact-finding investigations into moderate-to-high risk level team member complaints with a sense of urgency while maintaining objectivity and independence, memorialize findings into clear and concise investigative reports and, when necessary, partner with colleagues on policy compliance and interpretation.  Minimal travel may be required.

  • Ensure all investigation data is accurately and timely entered in the case management system.  Create and submit a variety of correspondence as directed.  Follow-up with management and/or HR to ensure compliance with investigative recommendations.

  • Maintain confidentiality regarding Team Member information, investigation files and data, department initiatives, and compliance issues.  Ensures all Team Member confidential or sensitive information is always protected and secure.

  • Ensure that the provided service is consistent with the Company’s Core Values.  Provide prompt courteous service to all individuals involved in investigations.

  • Performs additional duties and projects as assigned.

  • Consistent regular scheduled attendance is considered an essential function of this job.

 

Position Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience; J.D. beneficial, but not required.

Acceptable Job-Related Experience: Formal HR or Legal training. Experience in conducting workplace investigations.

Years of Job-Related Experience:  2+ years

Technical/Other Skills:  Basic knowledge of investigative techniques, practices, and concepts.  Critical thinking, analytical acumen, superior writing, and communication skills.
