Weee! seeks an experienced attorney to support our growing business operations. Reporting to the General Counsel, this position is in Weee!’s corporate headquarters in Fremont, CA.
The successful candidate will have 6+ years of experience in the litigation department of a law firm or in-house legal department.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manage and work with outside counsel on all litigation matters.
- Provide pre-litigation counseling support to the company’s HR, Marketing, Merchandising, Operations, Finance + Accounting, and Product teams.
- Advice and counsel the broader business on an array of pre-litigation and active litigation matters.
- Manage litigation hold notices.
- Coordinate and manage internal pre-litigation and litigation diligence.
- Train and educate internal teams on pre-litigation strategies and best practices.
REQUIREMENTS
- Substantive experience in labor and employment litigation or counseling.
- The tenacity to thrive in a start-up environment.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Strong analytical capabilities and judgment.
- Ability to work proactively, independently, and reliably under tight timeframes in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work effectively, collaboratively, cross-functionally, think practically and be solution-oriented in a multilingual environment.
- Willingness to tackle matters outside their area of expertise and do more than just be a lawyer.
- JD from accredited law school.
- Admitted to practice law and in good standing in the State of California.
