Weee! seeks an experienced attorney to support our growing business operations.  Reporting to the General Counsel, this position is in Weee!’s corporate headquarters in Fremont, CA.

The successful candidate will have 6+ years of experience in the litigation department of a law firm or in-house legal department. 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage and work with outside counsel on all litigation matters. 
  • Provide pre-litigation counseling support to the company’s HR, Marketing, Merchandising, Operations, Finance + Accounting, and Product teams.
  • Advice and counsel the broader business on an array of pre-litigation and active litigation matters. 
  • Manage litigation hold notices.
  • Coordinate and manage internal pre-litigation and litigation diligence.
  • Train and educate internal teams on pre-litigation strategies and best practices. 

REQUIREMENTS

  • Substantive experience in labor and employment litigation or counseling.
  • The tenacity to thrive in a start-up environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Strong analytical capabilities and judgment.
  • Ability to work proactively, independently, and reliably under tight timeframes in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work effectively, collaboratively, cross-functionally, think practically and be solution-oriented in a multilingual environment.
  • Willingness to tackle matters outside their area of expertise and do more than just be a lawyer.
  • JD from accredited law school.
  • Admitted to practice law and in good standing in the State of California.
