Associate General Counsel - Securitizations and Structured Products
North America Markets Legal is seeking an experienced structured finance lawyer to provide legal counsel and support to several businesses within Citi’s Global Spread Products (GSP).
Applicants should have expertise in securitization transactions, such as ABS and CLO, and structured finance transactions, such as EETC and collateralized lending transactions.
Applicants must be team players and collegial. Due to the issues shared across GSP, a substantial amount of coordination among the legal team is required on a daily basis.
Responsibilities include:
- Advising the businesses on relevant legal and market developments and Citi policies;
- Partnering with businesses in recommending, developing and executing business plans;
- Leading transactional negotiations; and
- Working closely with control function partners, internal review committees, and industry organizations.
Qualifications:
- Candidates should have approximately 8 or more years of relevant legal experience at a law firm or in-house legal department at a large bank or financial services company;
- Ability to prioritize work, understand business issues, and effectively handle many issues simultaneously;
- Ability to interact effectively with senior business and legal management, and develop collaborative relationships with control function partners;
- Ability to work independently, take responsibility, handle tight deadlines, and make decisions;
- Effective and efficient problem solver; strong organizational and project management skills; and
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
Education:
- JD degree required, with New York bar admission.
