The Opportunity

Unity is looking for a Senior Legal Operations Manager, Legal Operations to join our growing Legal team. As our business is rapidly growing, we need a creative and multifaceted Senior Legal Operations Manager to help us build the future of Unity! In this role, you will partner with our General Counsel and Legal Leadership team to drive organizational enablement, manage our budget, support strategy and execution of departmental priorities, and improve our inclusive culture through communications and team-building initiatives. You will be an invaluable thought partner to our General Counsel and Legal Leadership team, enabling our organization to scale to support Unity’s global business.

This is an outstanding opportunity to lead the development of legal operations at Unity. Your success will come from intellectual curiosity, a roll-up-your-sleeves and can-do approach, collaboration, and communication.

 

What you will be doing:

  • Organizational enablement: Design, develop, and simplify legal operations processes and procedures to reduce friction and increase the team’s effectiveness and efficiency. Identify and execute against opportunities to automate our processes including knowledge management, contract management, compliance management, development of self-help tools, etc.
  • Budget management: Partner with FP&A to lead the Legal team’s budget, accruals and forecast. Manage invoicing, negotiating rates, adherence to billing guidelines and budgeting with vendors, including outside counsel
  • Strategy and execution: Partner with the legal leadership team to design and run legal department operating mechanisms, including planning, department goals, and KPIs along with mechanisms to track progress and measure performance. Ensure effective change management for all program and system implementations
  • Communications: Develop and implement the department’s strategic communications plan, e.g. newsletters, announcements, and messages from leadership team, ensuring communications goals support department and company objectives. Run department intranet, keeping information up-to-date, including department policies
  • Culture: Develop ways to bring the legal team together, including department meetings, activities and team building

 

What we are looking for:

  • BA/BS or equivalent education/experience
  • 5+ years of relevant experience leading and executing on legal operations, or similar strategy and operations functions
  • Outstanding communication skills with capability to author, edit, and iterate on written communications for the General Counsel and Legal Leaders
  • Ability to balance multiple assignments and lead major projects to successful completion, including collaboration with peers and cross-functional stakeholders
  • Familiarity with AirTable, Box, Google Workspace, Simple Legal, SpringCM, Jira, Workday Financials, TrustArc and other team efficiency platforms

 

You might also have:

  • Prior experience as an individual contributor driving initiatives with significant executive-level engagement
  • Demonstrated history of strategic analysis and process improvement across short- and long-term organizational concerns
  • Thrives in a dynamic, fast-paced distributed environment

 

Additional information

Gross base salary (USD): $111,200 - $150,500

*Note: Certain locations require a good faith disclosure of the base salary range for the role. The actual salary for the successful candidate may differ based on location, experience, and other job-related factors.
