Vir's Legal group is looking for a motivated Senior Corporate Paralegal & Legal Operations Associate to join our team. You will assume multiple responsibilities, all of which will require critical thinking, innovation, and integrity. We are looking for someone with relevant project management and change management experience. We will look to you to guide progress on legal technology roadmaps focused on increased efficiencies and effectiveness for the Legal group. You will help with legal and patent document preparation, partner with contracts management teams and provide operational support across the Legal group.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND LEARNING OPPORTUNITIES:

  • Assist with maintaining historical minute books for Vir and our subsidiaries
  • Maintain library of corporate resolutions, recordkeeping templates and historical documents for use in corporate matters
  • Prepare and manage Vir entity recordkeeping for registered agent, service for process, and annual corporate filings
  • Assist in tracking Legal team cost accruals, and facilitate budget reporting
  • Manage intake, backlog, prioritization and execution of legal operations process and technology roadmap projects including document and contract lifecycle management, compliance, IP and litigation process and technology, business insights dashboard and the creation of structured legal data
  • Evaluate, test, train, implement and support technology solutions
  • Responsible for configuration, management and continuous improvements for legal operations processes and third-party technology solutions
  • Assist with legal third-party vendor management, oversight and legal-vendor diversity efforts
  •   Develop and maintain contract templates, approved responses and standard procedures
  • Work collaboratively in contracts management across legal, clinical, CMC and vendor contacts to maintain efficient operational structure
  • Perform data analysis and create compelling presentations using Excel and PowerPoint
  • Assist with preparing legal and patent documents under the guidance of an attorney or paralegal
  • Support the daily operations of the legal group and its individual members and manage other corporate legal projects as needed

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Eight plus years experience in corporate legal operations, patent operations, or tech program management, in-house or at a law firm
  • Experience working with cloud-based and on-premises legal group technology solutions including e-billing, contract and document management, patent docketing, self-service contracting, e-signature and knowledge management applications
  • Expertise with Excel (can perform complex functions), PowerPoint, Microsoft Word
  • Experience breaking down complex processes and identifying important pain points
  • Experience managing multiple deadlines and operational priorities
  • The ability to sort through details while understanding the big picture
  • The ability to present ideas clearly and concisely
  • B.A. or B.S. degree or relevant experience
