JOB SUMMARY

The Sr. Manager, Legal Operations will support and partner with Legal Leadership team to drive organizational enablement, support strategy and execution of departmental priorities, and foster an inclusive culture through communications and team-building initiatives. The Sr. Manager, Legal Operations will also support various corporate governance matters including preparation of boards meeting materials, providing senior paralegal support, managing special legal projects and supporting the contracting processes. As a member of a collaborative team, this position will work with members of the Legal team to implement organizational strategies and processes to promote client service and the efficiency of the department.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

  • Collaborates with key stakeholders to facilitate business needs; and establishes strong business partnership relationships characterized by a high-level of collaboration, trust, and mutual respect.
  • Assists with litigation process including interviews, legal research, document filing and case assessments.
  • Oversight of legal operations to lead and ensure delivery of high-quality legal services (i.e. setting up reporting, systems and process).
  • Responsible for contract management from contract drafting to execution, filing and database management.
  • Manage maintenance and organization of corporate files.
  • Project management for multi-disciplinary legal projects to achieve organizational goals and objectives.
  • Assist in prioritizing and managing multiple priorities.
  • Manage invoicing, negotiating rates, and adherence to billing guidelines.
  • Assist with preparing presentation materials for Board of Director meetings.
  • Planning and execution of legal meetings, team building activities and retreats.
  • Serves as chief of staff to SVP, General Counsel & Corporate Secretary.
  • Other duties, responsibilities and activities may change or be assigned at needed.

 

EDUCATION

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent required.
  • Paralegal certificate preferred.

 

EXPERIENCE

  • 8+ years of demonstrated successful project and operations management experience.
  • Experience providing paralegal support to companies in the biotechnology, pharmaceutical and/or healthcare industries a plus.

  • Proficient in Microsoft products (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
