What You'll Get To Do

  • Prepare, review, and negotiate complex agreements
  • Support Clients in key negotiations with customers and suppliers
  • Lead complex, multidimensional projects, transactions, or problem resolution that span legal, business, and functional boundaries e.g., cross geographies, subject matter areas, jurisdictions, and organizations. Manage and assess risk of complex commercial contracts, both domestic and international, and ensure compliance with and effective management systems for same.
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of the Clients’ business, its strategies, and the external regulatory marketplace and trends.
  • Manage Counsel responsible for contracts team and provide guidance to improve efficiencies

 

What You'll Bring

Education and Experience

  • Law degree from accredited law school required.  Admission to a state bar. In house admission to applicable state bar required
  • Minimum 10 years of relevant legal experience at a law firm and in-house
  • Significant experience with commercial transactions as an in-house counsel
  • Extensive experience structuring, reviewing, and negotiating complex agreements, with particular focus on supply chain including purchase, sales, supply, license, procurement, warranty, and confidentiality agreements
  • People management skills

  • Able to independently manage a diverse and complex workload while maintaining priorities and anticipating issues
  • Experience in dealing with complex technical and financial transactions
  • Impeccable ethics and a high level of integrity

  • Ability to work in a matrixed and global environment, to handle multiple projects, priorities and stakeholders efficiently and effectively and to develop and implement solutions and communication methods cross-functionally.

 

Communications:

  • Key communications contacts and level of persuasion required
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, particularly the ability to draft agreements and correspondence in clear, precise language
  • Ability to adapt communication on complex issues for different audiences
  • Work with customers and management
  • Collaborate with overseas affiliates, particularly in the drafting and negotiating of certain agreements
  • Provide training to businesspeople on significant legal issues
  • Ability to motivate and otherwise effectively manage performance of direct reports

 

Other Requirements

  • Remote work allowed
  • Travel required, up to 25 percent as required for meetings

The salary range of $180,000 - $235,000 is just one component of Panasonic’s total package. Actual compensation varies depending on the individual’s knowledge, skills, experience, and location. This role may be eligible for discretionary bonuses and incentives.
