Marsh McLennan is currently seeking a motivated and eager Junior Paralegal to join the Marsh Mercer Litigation team. In this role, you will support several attorneys in the US and Canada as well as other functions in the region on a wide range of litigation-related matters, including litigation support and subpoena responses.

  • The junior paralegal works directly with and supports a team of in-house attorneys on a wide range of litigation and litigation-related matters and initiatives.
  • The junior paralegal position assists with document collection, review and production, including for Company litigations and third-party discovery requests; legal holds; day-to-day organizational efficiencies; and other matters as assigned.
  • The position interacts not only with in-house attorneys and outside counsel, but also with other functions and business units.

We will count on you to:

  • Be responsible for document collection, organization and retention processes; issue and maintain legal holds; organize and maintain all core legal/business documents. 
  • Participate in a document review, including issue-spotting, attorney client privilege, data privacy and collection processes in connection with subpoenas, litigation and client requests.
  • Serve as a liaison among the in-house attorney team, outside counsel, vendors, and other parties involved in litigation, arbitration, and regulatory inquiries.
  • Monitor and communicate all litigation, arbitration and other litigation-related deadlines to in-house attorneys. 
  • Conduct legal and factual research; provide summaries on relevant business, regulatory and compliance issues; and collect, analyze and present reports on various types of data.

What you need to have: 

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • 2+ years of experience in a law office/firm preferred
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills as well as organizational skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Teams

  • Experience working in a law firm or in legal or compliance functions of a financial services or insurance company a plus
  • Experience working with Relativity and electronic discovery.

The applicable base salary range for this role is $45,900 to $91,700.

The base pay offered will be determined on factors such as experience, skills, training, location, certifications, education, and any applicable minimum wage requirements. Decisions will be determined on a case-by-case basis. In addition to the base salary, this position may be eligible for performance-based incentives.
