The Opportunity

This Commercial Automotive Paralegal is responsible for providing legal support in connection with various matters related to Ally's automotive and dealer loan financing operations.  On a daily basis this person will review and organize information required for drafting of correspondence, agreements, and other documents or communications, prepare initial draft documents, and conduct legal research.  This person should have strong interest in working in a fast-paced, team environment, building strong client relationships, performing legal research, and embracing new and varied learning opportunities.  The ideal candidate will have an inquisitive nature and strong organizational skills.

This position is located at Ally's Detroit office and offers a Hybrid work schedule 

The Work Itself

  • Drafting of correspondence, agreements, and other documents and communications.
  • Research issues involving UCC Article 9, perfection and priority issues (including review of UCC searches and business filings), state and federal law, and public records (including state corporations databases, UCC databases, real estate records, and federal and state court filings).
  • Assist with special projects (including reviewing and tracking pending legislation and researching statutory and case law).

The Skills You Bring

  • Paralegal certificate from an ABA accredited program required.
  • Minimum 1+ years of required experience
  • Bachelors degree and a strong academic record.
  • Excellent research and writing skills.
  • Strong communication skills - listening, verbal and written.
  • Ability to manage, organize, and prioritize multiple tasks simultaneously in a timely manner.
  • Good judgment and ability to quickly spot and escalate issues.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Detail-oriented.
