Join us and become an EXPERT! __ Position Summary: Service Experts is seeking Legal Counsel to join its team in Richardson, Texas, currently comprised of three attorneys and three paralegals. The Legal Counsel will provide legal advice and support to all areas of the business. The ideal candidate will be interested in learning the business, supporting all aspects of business operations, and becoming an integral part of the Service Experts’ team.

  • Litigation Management: Manage both insured and uninsured claims, including responding to discovery, and attending depositions, mediations, and settlement conferences as necessary.
  • Dispute Resolution: Negotiate to resolution of commercial and consumer disputes.
  • Contract Management: Provide exceptional commercial contract advice, review, and negotiation in a timely and efficient manner, supporting our business partners in achieving their goals.
  • Legal Guidance: Provide legal advice, support, and guidance across all business sectors as needed.
  • Documentation: Draft, review, and negotiate commercial contracts, settlement agreements, and corporate policies.
  • External Management: Supervise outside counsel, third-party claims administrators, and other external advisors/vendors.
  • Legal Updates: Keep abreast of changes in pertinent laws, regulations, and best contracting practices, sharing insights with business partners to boost the legal department's efficiency.
  • Training: Lead and support internal training initiatives.
  • Travel: Travel to various center locations as needed.

Additional Duties: Perform other tasks and projects beneficial to the business as required.

  • Juris Doctor, with an active state bar membership in Texas or another jurisdiction.
  • A minimum of 3-5 years of experience as a practicing attorney, either in a law firm or in-house.
  • Stellar verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to engage and collaborate with a diverse set of individuals.
  • Sound judgment, robust analytical skills, meticulous attention to detail, and a commendable work ethic.
  • Proactive, flexible, and adaptable to change.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, and Excel).
  • Ability to work and prioritize tasks in a dynamic environment.
