About The Role
- Real Equity is looking for an experienced and motivated attorney with real estate experience looking to grow into a GC role within a growing company with various related real estate operations. This attorney will be well rounded able to handle a variety of legal issues from corporate matters, to transactional disputes and operational title work, as well as consult with outside counsel on specific matters requiring deeper experience.
What You'll Do
- Represent the company on all legal matters.
- Support each of our business units on a variety of issues.
- Identify, analyze and communicate on potential business and legal issues.
- Work closely with top-level leadership and owners.
Requirements
- Juris Doctorate from an ABA accredited law school
- Membership in good standing with the State Bar of Texas
- At least 3 years of law firm or in-house legal department experience with residential real estate transactions, including purchase and sale agreements, contract disputes, landlord-tenant law, real estate finance, deed, mortgage and heirship affidavit preparation, and title company issues.
- Familiarity with with residential real estate investment, real estate brokerage, and real estate title and escrow operations.
- Familiarity with general corporate legal matters such as entity creation, labor and employment law, contract law.
- Experience working with outside counsel on specific issues where additional expertise is required.
