Contract Attorney

STARR Restaurants is conducting a search for a Contract Attorney to join our distinguished organization. With a proven commitment to excellence, STARR Restaurants has been the recipient of multiple awards and recognition including two 2017 James Beard Awards. The Contract Attorney will work directly with the General Counsel, as well as all functional business teams, to further the objectives of the business, while promoting a culture of compliance with applicable regulations and laws and governance best practices.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Identifies and analyzes legal issues, drafts key documents and presents clear recommendations to ensure legal compliance.
- Drafts, reviews and revises high priority legal documents, including but not limited to, corporate and commercial contracts, terms and conditions, leases, licenses, agreements and pleadings etc.
- Conducts complex legal research and investigation of claims; develops oral and written advice and makes recommendations to the General Counsel.
- Analyzing and summarizing key contract terms, and compiling pertinent information about business agreements to enable the appropriate teams to take proactive steps for timely renewals.
- Responsible for analyzing and tracking compliance issues
- Facilitates the development process by performing preliminary reviews and coordinating information for management agreements, technical services agreements and other related agreements, checking for compliance with company policies, entering and auditing data regarding contractual obligations, and overseeing dissemination of information to appropriate departments
Requirements:
- A Law degree from an accredited law school
- A minimum of 7 years of experience in the field
- Experience in Hospitality or Retail industry preferred
- Self-motivated with excellent communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Detail-oriented, with strong organizational, problem-solving and administrative skills
- Must have strong contract drafting/analytic skill
- Must be able to work in fast-paced environment
- Proficient in technology platforms, including MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) as well as data management tools and platforms
- Ability to work independently, and follow through to completion projects in a timely and efficient manner
- Ability to interact on a professional level with internal and external business partners
