Job Description:

The Legal Counsel serves as a legal adviser to the Company’s global pharmaceutical business. The incumbent advises leadership, managers and other stakeholders on contract negotiations, dispute resolution, policy and compliance matters, and novel business issues as well as contributes to the development and implementation of relevant policies and risk management strategies. The Legal Counsel actively develops, supports, and contributes to the continuous improvement of the Company’s legal processes and procedures including development of contract templates, risk mitigation strategies, and function-specific legal research. The incumbent also supports corporate initiatives including corporate administration, transactions, dispute resolution, and other Legal Department initiatives, as required.

Summary Of Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborates closely with VP, Legal Affairs and General Counsel, and other members of the Legal Department, in the negotiation, drafting, and review of legal documents.
  • Assists in the administration and maintenance of the Company’s contract database.
  • Generates and updates Company contract templates as well as corporate policies and procedures.
  • Assists the VP, Legal Affairs and General Counsel, and other members of the Legal Department, with the Company’s corporate governance matters.
  • Works cross-functionally with numerous Company departments including, but not limited to, Sales, Market Access, Finance, Clinical Operations, Supply Chain, and Human Resources by providing legal support as needed to further the Company’s day-to-day business objectives.
  • Assists in the management of the Company’s insurance portfolio.

Required Qualifications And Skills

  • Admitted to practice law in a US state.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ relevant legal experience in the pharmaceutical industry.
  • Experience in one of the following areas strongly preferred: clinical development or intellectual property.
  • Excellent contract drafting and negotiating skills.
  • Capacity to provide practical, business-focused advice.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of general corporate business practices.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and verbal and written communication skills.
  • Superior analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Commercial awareness.
  • Exceptional organizational skills, time management and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work in a collaborative, dynamic, fast-paced environment with shifting priorities.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite and Adobe Pro

Travel Requirements: 10%
