Job Overview

Come join our amazing team of leaders, learners, and world-class legal professionals. Working as a member of the Products Counseling Team, you will be responsible for partnering with multiple innovative product teams around the world to power prosperity for consumers and small businesses. Your primary focus will be working with our engineering, product, and marketing teams as they develop and introduce products serving small businesses, with a specific focus on the Quickbooks part of the Intuit platform. You will work to ensure that Intuit’s products are structured to achieve our business strategy while complying with applicable laws and regulations in multiple jurisdictions. You will also be called upon to advise business leaders as they develop their product roadmaps and strategies. The ideal candidate should have experience counseling product teams on compliance with laws, regulations, and third-party contractual provisions, as well as have experience advising on advertising and marketing.

This role is hybrid with on-site expectations of 2-3 days per week.

 

Qualifications

  • 8-10 years of experience primarily advising technology companies
  • Significant breadth of knowledge in as many of the following areas as possible: generative AI, data privacy and protection, IP, cloud computing, competition law, employment law, and technology licensing
  • Demonstrated ability to perform with minimal supervision
  • Experience providing legal support on a global scale
  • Ability to communicate with business partners and business executives about regulatory obligations and risk management processes
  • Excellent drafting and negotiation skills
  • Ability to produce clear and succinct written legal analysis and business communications, and counsel and manage clients, including senior management
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to interact with and lead change with senior executive leaders
  • Ability to effectively frame issues to drive strategic thinking and execution
  • Comfortable and adept at balancing risk and opportunity, and thinking creatively to enable the business to make smart decisions
  • Excellent teaching and training skills
  • Excellent business acumen
  • JD and membership in good standing with at least one US State Bar

 

Responsibilities

  • You will partner closely with product management, business development, engineering, design, marketing, and compliance and operations teams in order to facilitate the design and development of products that are both innovative and compliant with local laws.
  • You will provide legal advice and counseling on a wide variety of cutting edge matters, including generative AI product features, data privacy and protection, intellectual property, and regulatory compliance. You may structure, draft, negotiate and advise upon various complex transactions with minimal direction and supervision.
  • You should be comfortable with navigating through unknown/uncharted areas and seeking appropriate advice/guidance as well as ‘swim’ on your own in the ocean.
  • You should be passionate and tech-savvy with a solid understanding of product compliance as well as fintech-innovation generally – all to provide support to various work streams enabling product offerings to delight small businesses.

Intuit provides a competitive compensation package with a strong pay for performance rewards approach. The expected base pay range for this position is CA $208,500 - $306,000. This position will be eligible for a cash bonus, equity rewards and benefits, in accordance with our applicable plans and programs (see more about our compensation and benefits at Intuit®: Careers | Benefits). Pay offered is based on factors such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and work location.
