About The Role
The Legal Coordinator will be responsible for working with various databases, implementing and overseeing various franchise processes, preparing form documents and agreements, liaising with internal and external stakeholders, and providing general support to the legal team.
A Day in the Life
- Assisting with all aspects of the franchise lifecycle, including:
- Preparing, distributing, and overseeing the execution and processing of franchise agreements, development agreements, transfer agreements, and renewal agreements.
- Collecting required documentation for franchise applications, performing credit and background checks, and reviewing financial documentation to ensure all minimum requirements have been satisfied.
- Collecting business entity documentation, purchase agreements, certificates of insurance, leases, and other documentation from franchisees.
- Coordinating with internal and external stakeholders regarding the status of franchise sales, transfers, and renewals.
- Providing support with the preparation and filing of the company’s annual Franchise Disclosure Document, including coordinating with internal departments, state franchise regulatory authorities, and outside counsel regarding franchise registrations and updates.
- Completing the intake of new claims and litigation, and providing support in connection with active litigation.
- Drafting and maintaining form agreements and boilerplate provisions.
- Analyzing and summarizing contractual terms within franchise agreements, and compiling pertinent information about franchise agreements.
- Preparing correspondence on behalf of the legal department to assist with franchise development, operations, and litigation matters.
- Facilitating improvements to existing franchise processes and procedures.
- Interacting without outside counsel, as needed.
- Providing updates to internal teams regarding the status of agreements.
- Performing other related duties that are assigned from time to time.

Education And Experience
- Bachelor of Science/Arts is preferred.
- Minimum of two (2) years’ experience, preferably in a law firm or in-house legal department setting.
- Franchise experience is strongly preferred, but not required.
- Paralegal experience is helpful, but not required.
- Prior experience drafting form agreements, contracts, and other legal documents is strongly preferred, but not required.
