Managing Sr. Counsel – Omnicare

Job Description
As Managing Senior Legal Counsel – Long Term Care, you will manage a team of attorneys and staff providing strategic legal counsel and advice to internal business partners on legal, contractual and regulatory issues for Omnicare, a leading long term care pharmacy. You will partner directly with senior Omnicare leaders to support innovation and growth of the business will mitigating risk. You will also provide regulatory and transactional support for the growth of Omnicare through acquisitions.

You will be managing a team responsible for negotiating, drafting, and reviewing contracts. You will provide regulatory guidance for the business and support growth initiatives.

Additional responsibilities of the Managing Senior Legal Counsel include:
• Identifying business and legal risks while providing solutions to balance legal issues and business objectives.
• Developing a keen understanding of the business and operational goals while developing and maintaining positive relationships with clients at all levels of the organization.
• Collaborating with internal clients to provide advice on legal matters and driving transactions and contracting to completion.
• Partnering with other in-house and external attorneys and partners on contractual arrangements and legal and regulatory compliance issues.
• Providing counsel on related policies and procedures and other operational and compliance issues.

Pay Range
The typical pay range for this role is:
Minimum: 170,000
Maximum: 325,000

This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above. This position also includes an award target in the company’s equity award program.

Required Qualifications
The successful candidate will have a strong work ethic, be a self-starter, and able to be highly productive in a dynamic, collaborative environment. The ideal candidate will have the following experience / knowledge / ability:

• Ability to work Hybrid Model (in office Tuesday / Wednesday / Thursday)
• 8+ years of experience as a lawyer in a large law firm and/or in-house corporation setting within a larger enterprise organization.
• 5+ years of contract drafting and negotiating experience.
• Working knowledge of healthcare laws and regulations including:
–HIPAA
–Medicare
–Medicaid
–False Claims Act
–Federal Anti-Kickback Statute
–Board of Pharmacy matters
• In-house legal experience.
• Ability to handle a large flow of work and various projects at one time.
• Ability to anticipate issues.
• Ability to build and implement methods for optimizing results and risks.
• Self-starter and experience working independently.
• Ability to navigate a large, complex corporate structure.
• Possess strong intellect coupled with pragmatic acumen and proven practical discernment.
• Ability to work sensitively with confidential matters.
• Currently admitted to a state bar and in good standing.
• Ability to travel up to 5% of the time, as needed per business needs.

• PBM / Healthcare industry knowledge

Education
• Juris Doctorate
