Shockwave Medical, Inc. is a pioneer in the development and commercialization of Intravascular Lithotripsy (IVL) to treat complex calcified cardiovascular disease. Shockwave Medical aims to establish a new standard of care for medical device treatment of atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease through its differentiated and proprietary local delivery of sonic pressure waves for the treatment of calcified plaque.
Position Overview
Managing a wide variety of commercial transactions including:
- Sell-side agreements with hospitals, GPOs and similar entities, including pricing, consignment, equipment loan and master purchasing agreements.
- Buy-side agreements, including direct and indirect procurement contracts, and related quality and data privacy agreements.
- Clinical trial and investigator-sponsored research agreements, and agreements with healthcare professionals.
- Invoice, quotation, and other templates.
- Managing a contract lifecycle solution (DocuSign), maximizing its use and training employees to use it.
- Working with business and legal colleagues to streamline contracting by creating, implementing, and ensuring adherence to standard processes and procedures.
- Working with the Director, Corporate Purchasing in Finance on negotiation of procurement contracts.
- Working with legal colleagues outside the U.S. on international contracts.
- Recommending, retaining and supervising outside counsel as needed for legal services.
- Maintaining familiarity with applicable regulatory, compliance and business rules and regulations for contracting operations.
- Building, training, and mentoring a commercial legal team, and recommending and managing the use of vendors and consultants as appropriate.
- Prioritizing tasks to get deals done, including participation in contract negotiations and discussions as needed.
- People Leaderhip experience is a must. This position witll have 3-5 direct reports.
Requirements
- At least 12 years of relevant experience preferred.
- Education: Juris Doctor (JD) is required.
- Strong experience supporting a heavy volume of commercial transactions.
- Record of building and mentoring a team of paralegals and lawyers, and managing external support.
- Experience with providing strategic advice and implementing streamlining processes.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
- Responsive, pro-active, business-minded, team-oriented, and pragmatic.
- Superior leadership, negotiating, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- On-site position with flexible working hours.
Market Range: $256,000 - $275,000
Exact compensation may vary based on skills, expertise, and location
