Summary: Hydro Extrusion North America is seeking a Legal Operations Specialist fall intern to work with our lean dynamic in-house legal team based at the Hydro Extrusion North America headquarters in the Chicago, IL area. This position is a great opportunity for any individual contemplating law school and/or other careers in the legal profession.  The legal team works closely with the HR, commercial, finance, environmental, quality, and other business colleagues to proactively address a wide variety of legal issues. The intern will report to our Legal Operations Administrator and will have the opportunity to work directly with our entire legal team, including our in-house attorneys.  Every day is different and full of learning.  This position is a hybrid position.

  

Job Responsibilities:

The Legal Operations Specialist fall intern is expected to work on a variety of projects with the legal team.  Potential projects include the following:

 

  • Assist our Legal Operations Administrator with various important projects, including ongoing improvements in our e-billing system, our e-learning system, our Teams sites, and other key core systems for our legal team.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and develop potential solutions in collaboration with relevant stakeholders.
  • Manage, update and maintain contract databases and file systems.
  • Assist with responding to third party subpoenas, reviewing non-disclosure agreements, statements of work, and other basic agreements.
  • Assist with the issuance and analysis of requests for proposals for law firms and other legal service providers.
  • Contribute to new strategic enterprise-wide projects, as needed.

 

Education/Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree completed or in process
  • Excelled written, verbal, and inter-personal communication skills required
  • Ability to proactively manage multiple projects and shift priorities, while delivering high quality consistent results
  • Microsoft Office 365 and SharePoint experience required
