Job Summary:

As Senior Legal Counsel, the candidate will be responsible for leading transactions, project management, identifying advantageous regulatory structures and working collaboratively with stakeholders across all departments.  A successful candidate will be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, interacting with senior level management and providing support for the day-to-day guidance and legal advice for all aspects of the business.

Job Responsibilities:

• Draft, negotiate, and review financial technology services agreements and complex commercial transactions
• Serve as subject matter expert and trusted legal advisor to all departments to assure compliance with applicable laws, regulation and contract terms
• Establish successful working relationships and foster collaboration amongst teams, such as Sales, Product, Operations, and Finance, to achieve organization-wide goals and strategic initiatives
• Leverage expert knowledge of financial services regulations, privacy and data security
• Provide legal support in corporate structuring and mergers and acquisitions
• Provide advice, education, and legal direction to internal stakeholders, distilling complex legal issues into helpful frameworks or reference guides
• As part of the responsibilities for this role, you will understand and readily support Envestnet's established corporate business practices, policies, internal controls and procedures designed to create value or minimize risk
• Adherence to and application of Envestnet legal, compliance, risk, business continuity and administrative policy within the role and department(s) including the timely completion of training & awareness, affirmations and testing as requested

Required Qualifications:

• Juris Doctor from an ABA accredited law school
• Member in good standing of a state bar
• Excellent drafting, analytical and project management skills
• Proven ability to understand business needs and requirements
• Ability to effectively engage and communicate with all levels of the organization, including senior executive levels

Preferred Qualifications:

• Minimum of 7 years of legal experience in Fintech SaaS contract drafting and negotiation
• Experience in the areas of data security, privacy regulation, RIA/BD/ERISA regulation or financial services experience a plus.
• Mature judgment, critical thinking and decision-making skills
• Excellent organizational skills with the ability to multi-task

Salary:

The annual base salary range for this position is $148,000 to $222,000.
