Job Description:

The Restaurant Development Legal Team is a dynamic, experienced team of lawyers, paralegals, and other real estate legal professionals who support the creation and modernization of McDonald’s restaurants across the U.S. and has an immediate opening for a paralegal to join the team.

Applicants must have experience in the acquisition and leasing of real estate and general knowledge of the commercial real estate industry. While this paralegal will work with an attorney, this individual must be comfortable working independently and creatively to handle a high volume of work in a fast-paced environment and be able to identify and resolve sophisticated legal issues affecting the development of real estate.

Paralegals on the Restaurant Development Legal Team are expected to:

  • Review and clear title and survey;
  • Review and analyze contracts, leases, easements, restrictive covenants, declarations, and other legal documents;
  • Draft and prepare ancillary transaction documents such as escrow instructions, estoppel certificates, deeds, easements, memorandum of leases, restrictive covenants and non-disturbance agreements;
  • Collect transactional documents to facilitate the acquisition and leasing of real estate;
  • Work with construction teams to address construction-related issues:
  • Independently work with business clients on all aspects of due diligence;
  • Perform legal clearance reviews to facilitate the modernization of existing McDonald’s restaurant locations.

Qualifications:

 

  • Paralegal certificate or equivalent
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in the commercial real estate area required
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, drafting and communication skills
  • Ability to handle multiple projects, prioritize higher value work, handle deadline pressures, and critical information
  • Intellectually curious and adaptable to change
  • Work well individually and also as part of a team and demonstrate reliability, strong work-ethic, collaboration, and cooperation with team
  • Think strategically and be an active contributor to team efforts to achieve team goals and objectives
  • Proficient in adopting and applying pre-existing and new technologies to drive efficiency
