Team Description

Our Legal, Policy, Trust & Privacy teams help keep users and their stuff safe, protect Dropbox, counsel Dropboxers on challenging problems, and are always synced with the Dropbox teams they work with. We deal with novel issues every day while standing up for users and helping the company and product grow.

 

Role Description

At Dropbox, our Litigation Paralegal is a key member of our legal team. With no job too big or small, you’ll assist with and manage a variety of projects, including litigation support, discovery, outside counsel coordination, policies and compliance processes, and budget management. You must have excellent organizational and communication skills, a strong work ethic, and you absolutely must love sweating the details.  We’re looking for a proactive self-starter who enjoys working cross-functionally and flexibly in a fast-paced and dynamic environment. 

 

Responsibilities

  • Assist Litigation Counsel and Senior Paralegal with matter management and outside counsel interaction coordination
  • Drive the process for gathering relevant materials and preparing responses to litigation demands, discovery requests, subpoenas, agency claims and audits, etc. 
  • Assist with the production of documents and information by analyzing requests, consulting with internal business partners, and obtaining, reviewing, and producing documents
  • Help scale processes for the Litigation team by creating and maintaining internal templates, guidelines, and playbooks 
  • Organize and maintain a knowledge management system for the Litigation team
  • Manage eDiscovery processes
  • Help to create and oversee matter budgets
  • Drive, manage, and contribute to occasional special projects like implementing a matter management system, creating processes for pre-litigation/arbitration consumer disputes, etc. 

 

Requirements

  • 7+ years relevant experience in litigation and employment, preferably as a paralegal in a law firm or in-house legal department
  • Significant discovery experience, including with eDiscovery tools
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to adapt to and thrive in a fast-paced high-pressure environment
  • Comfortable working collaboratively and operating under tight deadlines with a broad range of responsibilities
  • Ability to work effectively in a fully-remote environment with team members located across various time zones
  • Comfortable assisting Litigation Counsel on complicated, sensitive, and nuanced issues
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Self-motivator, with the ability to prioritize a variety of competing matters
  • Ability to work effectively with internal and external clients and promote the reputation and integrity of the Legal Team and Dropbox
  • Excellent computer skills with proficiency in Dropbox, Slack, Google, Microsoft Word, Excel and any practice-related software like Relativity, Google Vault, Onna, and Legal Hold Pro 
  • Associate’s degree, Bachelor's degree or equivalent (including paralegal certificate)

 

Total Rewards

For candidates hired in the following locations: Austin (TX) metro, Chicago metro, Colorado, Massachusetts, Maryland, Oregon, Washington D.C. metro, California (outside SF metro), the expected salary/On-Target Earnings (OTE) range for the role is currently $86,400 - $101,600 - $116,800. 

For candidates hired in the following locations: Arizona, Florida, Georgia, Illinois (outside Chicago Metro), North Carolina, Tennessee, Texas (outside Austin Metro), Virginia (outside D.C. Metro), the expected salary/On-Target Earnings (OTE) range for the role is currently $76,800 - $90,300 - $103,800. 

Range(s) is subject to change. Dropbox takes a number of factors into account when determining individual starting pay, including job and level they are hired into, location/metropolitan area, skillset, and peer compensation. Dropbox uses the zip code of an employee’s remote work location to determine which metropolitan pay range we use. 

Salary/OTE is just one component of Dropbox’s total rewards package. All regular employees are also eligible for the corporate bonus program or a sales incentive (target included in OTE) as well as stock in the form of Restricted Stock Units (RSUs).
